The Answers You Need
DO YOU HAVE TO BE A CLEMSON STUDENT TO WORK AT DVE?
Currently, yes. As we are student-run and a non-profit community of practice, you must attend Clemson University in order to work with Death Valley Entertainment.
HOW ARE STAFF MEMBERS COMPENSATED?
Because we're a startup, funding is very limited so unfortunately, we don't pay our employees. However, the experience of being a part of this dynamic staff is absolutely incredible. You have real industry exposure, the opportunity for course credit if you're a Clemson student and you get to be a part of a community of practice that always challenges your abilities and creativity. While you might not get money for working for DVE, being a part of this team can be your "in" into the industry and give you an experience that will set you on a path to success in any field.
CAN I JOIN THE TEAM AND ALSO SUGGEST NEW ARTISTS?
Of course! We're always looking for new artists for the label. Even if we are not currently ready to sign new artists, we are more than willing to find out what new artists have to offer.
Here's what our team has to say about working at DVE:
"Death Valley Entertainment has provided an opportunity to get experience in the career field i want to work in while also opening opportunities for research. I’ve been learning so much about the music industry and earning credit hours for school at the same time. I highly recommend this to people like me, who want to get into the music industry and get experience while improving your GPA, too."
- Cade Champoux, Creative Content Manager
"Working with Death Valley has allowed me to gain experience in a field that I'm passionate about and want to pursue for my career. My experience with DVE has taught me so much about using different marketing strategies and working as a community of practice."
